Drury


This is a convention we use when you have passed and the other opens with 1 major. In the last years the opening in 3. and 4. position has become weaker and weaker. Drury will help us to stop in time when we opens with those weak hands.

You ask your partner about his opening with 2C:

Pass-1H-2C
2D: Superminimum.
2H: (12)13-14 Hp.
2S: Natural & extra strength.
2NT: Natural & extra strength.
3C: 5-5. & extra strength.
3D: 5-5. & extra strength.
3H: Extra length & extra strength.
3S: Void & extra strength.
3NT: 18-19 Hp. no side suit or 6 card heart suit.
4C: Void & extra strength.
4D: Void & extra strength.


Pass-1S-2C
2D: Superminimum.

DEFENCE:
If the opponents doubles the 2 club bid
and shows a club suit you could bid like this:
Pass = Superminimum.
xx = extra strength and a club suit.
2Ru = Natural and extra strength.
