(2NT*1) - dbl - (3C*2) - ?

*1 - preempt in minor, one top honor
*2 - P/C
dbl = strength, not penalty oriented for both minors

On 1), it pays to know your opponent. I have seen 3-level openings at favorable vulnerability with some really ratty 6-card suits. I might be tempted to bid 3NT against one of these players. Otherwise, I think the normal response of 4C is the reply. I would not pass even though partner is in the pass-out seat.

On 2), partner's double was for penalty. It shows at least one minor suit controlled and values. It is not a takeout double. Although I am not interested in trying to penalize 3C, I think it is best to wait and see what partner does next. I pass.

The problem seems trivial for any strong club system using asking bids and even for SAYC since 2C is virtually forcing to game. Typical auctions would be:
1C - 1D -
2S - 3D" -   *Three spades
3H - 3S" -   *Singleton or void
4D - 4H* -  *No control
4S

or

2C - 2D* -   *Or 2H
2S - 3S -     *Surely partner would show his 3-card spade support
4S

Four reasons why there is no UNDO:

1.) Difficult to implement... ( Roll Eyes

2.) When you make a bid you are not under time pressure

3.) There is no undo in real bridge

4.) It's just practice

7NT should not be a 0 here either, at least give it a 6 since it's roughly the same as 7m to make (arguably better)

There is no way anyone would defend 1sx on these cards.  No way.

BQ really, really, really needs an undo feature (a player can undo his last bid if his partner has not viewed the board)

6NT is the best contract because in 6s it could go club to ace, diamond ruffed.  Otherwise they have exactly the same chances, yet 6s is a 10 and 6NT is a 0.  This needs fixing.
