I am enjoying BQ so far, but I get very irritated when I am chatting with my partner, but every time he sends a message about this bathmate, the menu to choose who to send a message to always resets to the first alphabetical screen name. So some poor stranger is receiving all sorts of random messages from me, that I then have to retype in order to send them to my partner. Can't BQ use some sort of IM screen where we can talk to exactly one person?

Thanks for your consideration.

I just noticed this too jesster. It's annoying isn't it.

BiddingQuest is a wonderful tool for allowing partners to practice their bidding and bidding system.  BQ needs a batch entry system where hands can be generated and output in a format that BQ can accept.  The scores for these hands would not be so important.  The partnership could use BQ as a vehicle to practice.  There are many programs that can generate hands so BQ simply needs to describe the format of its database so such databases could be created externally.  Automatic scoring could later be added by using such programs as Deep Finesse or Double Dummy Solver.

I have some experience with DEAL and Double Dummy Solver and would be willing to work with BiddingQuest experts to help add this function.

I have downloaded the bqbins.exe program, but after I enter data and try to save, it says "No board set is defined".  Are there instructions for using bqbins.exe?  Is there a batch entry for entering groups of hands.  My idea is to make sets using a generator such as Deal, where one (or two) of the hands is a certain type, such as a strong club, or a weak two-bid, or , so a partnership could practice certain parts of there system.

T73     KQJ864
KQ9     4
T842     KJ6
Q65     AK4

3NT  W  10
2S   EW  5
3N    E    5
3S   EW  3

4S is a playable contract, needing DQ to be onside, but the score for 4S is 0. Moreover, 3NT/W is a good contract, but far from being cold. If N has HA, he could lead a heart, and later if S has SA or DA, he can play a heart through and defeat the contract. Another scenario is, if defender attack clubs all the way, 3NT/W may have only 9 tricks: club lead, drive out SA, 2nd round club, drive out HA, 3rd round club setting up long clubs. Now declarer doesn't have time to try diamonds. 9 tricks in 3NT is worse than 10 tricks in 4S (this is MP). I believe the score of 4S should be quite close to the score of 3NT.

2 points for 7S must be wrong. It should be 2 points for 7C.

When I try to login, BQ keeps saying that I'm not connected.
I reinstalled BQ but I get the same error message.
What can I do?

Thx. I think I used the BIN magazine scoring, but I think it is wrong. I rescored it; 3N(10), 2N(7),2H(6),3H(5)
