This board reserves the top score for bidding a slam that has essentially no play (off one heart and one diamond). An even worse slam (sure to be down multiple tricks, in a 4-2 fit) gets the number two score.

Seems like these slams should be lousy scores (since they won't make) and the top score should go to 5C (essentially cold, barring very unlikely suit breaks) and 3NT (will win 1-2 imps over 5C most of the time, but not quite as high percentage).

Thanks. It seems this set has many errors. I have no idea what happened but a small slam need diamond kong to be alone... not much chanse for that. i must search to find that magazine to check what I have done. Sorry!
